8vo., First Edition, with 14 plates on 8, title and a few leaves lightly spotted; blue cloth, gilt back, top a little dust-soiled else a very good, firm copy. With the printed slip 'Authors' Note' mounted facing half-title. Loosely inserted is a newspaper obituary of Baillie-Grohman. This copy was formerly in the library of the eminent naval historian J H Owen and bears his dated signature on front free endpaper. This forthright account of the Greek evacuation led to a libel action. Enser, p.192; Law 0318.
