Since 1958, there is a joint expedition of Harvard and Cornell Universities, under direction of Prof. George M. A. Hanfmann, working on both excavation and restoration. Sart, the ancent site on the highway of Izmir-Ankara, attracts uncountable tourists, because of its fame, its monumental tombs of Lydian kings and the excavation and restoration studies carried on.
