17 PAGES MISSING. EXTREMELY RARE book printed in 1930s Palestine by Zionist educator Gitel Meisl. The book is a collection of sayings, short poems, essays and drawings by Hebrew-speaking children aged 1-13. The book also features musical notes to 3 songs composed by children, 8 b&w photographs, several illustrations and a short glossary for Hebrew neologisms. 245x215mm. 166 pages [+1]. Original quarter-leather blue cloth Hardcover. Gilt front cover and spine. Cover stained. Cover corners bumped and peeling. Spine rubbed and stained. Spine upper edge worn/peeling. Binder's small sticker on front inner cover upper corner. Whitepages and extreme pages age-stained. Ten first pages partly detached from binding. Binding visible between front whitepage and title page. Title page detached from binding with tattered edges and corners. Pages 11-18, 25/26, 115/116, 125/126, 147-152 missing. Pages 19-24, 113/114, 123/124 detached from binding, stapled together, and tattered on edges and corners. Pages 87-88, 153-154 and last unpaginated page (167/168) upper part torn - NO damage to text. Pages 145/146 and 153/154 partly detached. Pages 79-82 bottom edge tattered - NO damage to text. Some pages slightly age-stained. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book has sustained some damage and loss of pages, but is otherwise in good reading condition.
