Description

No marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked orange cloth boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn or creased with sunning to spine and minor traces of storage. 380pp. A novel from Manchester in the 1930s where Edgar Hargreaves, described as someone with scarcely a redeeming feature uses a legacy to buy himself a position in the town, in so doing causing misery and misfortune to other people which is admirably described by the author. The author's previous novel was 'Love on the Dole'. Very scarce.
