4to., First Edition, with frontispiece and very numerous photographs and maps in the text; blue cloth, gilt back, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper. HMS GLORY arrived in the Far East too late to take an active combat role in WWII, but she accepted the surrender of Japanese forces in New Guinea and participated in the operation to repatriate British and Commonwealth POWs after the war. She conducted several active tours of duty during the Korean War in the early 1950s.
