4to., First Edition, with a pictorial title and very numerous illustrations and full-page plans in the text; cloth, gilt back, a very good, clean copy in the dustwrapper. The author's earlier 'Traditional Buildings of Britain' dealt largely with the exteriors of vernacular buildings; the present work carries the story to the interiors and examines their planning and development. Already scarce in this condition.
