This is a good only softcover reference copy that has been heavily marked up. This is a sale catalog for an auction held at Sotheby's New York on November 30, 1999. Sale code: 7398 "CARTIER" . The sale consisted of important American Indian art and included the Lucille and Marshall Miller Collection. Introductory essay by David Penney, Chief Curator of Native American Art at the Detroit Instite of Arts. This is the sale that included the famous 'Cartier Storage Jar' which sold for about twice the estimate, hammered down at $230,000. The Lucille and Marshall Miller Collection consisted primarily of Southwest pottery. The sale also included the Robert Whiteside Collection. 493 lots in the sale. Most illustrated in color. No prices realized sheets, but most hammer prices written in. Bibliography. 11" high X 8" wide, 210 pages. This book will be securely packed and shipped with tracking.
