Despite the expansive filmography of many cinematographers as assistants for feature films or as cameramen for documentaries, this part of their work is excluded as well as the work of the set- and costume designers engaged in the theatre and television. Nevertheless many of them work now and then for the film and it's at the theatre where they develop the greater part of their artistic life.
