Description

8vo. (2), VI, 383, (1) pp. Contemp. half calf with giltstamped red spine label. One of 1,000 copies, not numbered. A variant imprint of the first German edition, showing the correct page count "383" (rather than "332", as misprinted in the previous impression). "Gesuchtes Sotadicum!" (Hayn/G.); the work's authorship remains unresolved: the publisher Fritz Freund and Willi Handl probably were involved. - Binding insignificantly rubbed; foredge and several pages show brownstaining. The half-title boasts a full-page erotic illustration by the Expressionist artist Johannes Maximilian Avenarius (1887-1954), signed and dated "J. M. G. [19]25". - Cf. Hayn/Gotendorf VIII, 477, Bilder-Lexikon IV, 692. Stern-Szana 233 (all "332 pp.").
