Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn with a little light creasing and traces of storage. 338pp. The author's first novel, set in the 14th century. The hero of this tale, Martin Kemp faces either death by hanging for a crime he did not commit or join the army of the king against the French. His dreams of valour soon evaporate as he encounters his fellow soldiers who are liars, thieves, poachers and brigands and the brutal realities of siege warfare form a terrifying odyssey.
