Description

1/4 leather bdg. 4to. (28 x 22 cm). In Ottoman script. 2 volumes set: (327 p.; 367 p.). 2 volumes in 1. Kitab-i Mevkufat. Mültekâu'l-ebhur tercümesi. 2 volumes set. Translated by Mevkufati Mehmed. Halebi has written about twenty-four works and many of his treaties were concerned with the issues that were discussed in his own time. Mülteka-i ebhur, which contains more than 17.000 jurisprudential subjects, was taught as a text book in the Ottoman madrasahs and at the same time constituted one of the reference sources of the kadis and muftis. Along with Molla Hüsrev's Dürerü'l-hükkâm, the Ottoman Empire's semi-official collection of legal works has been published many times (eg 1252, 1258, 1264, 1288, Bulaq 1263, Bombay 1278). M. d'Ohsson, Tableau général de l'Empire ottoman (Paris 1787-1820), as he based on this book, explains Ottoman legal order. Rare as set. Özege 13378.
