Description

4to. 2 vols. IV, 577-768, V-XVI pp. IV, 192, V-XXIV pp. Original printed wrappers. Two issues of the important French literary periodical. Contains the first edition of Boris Bajanov's memoir - an account of his experiences as assistant to Josef Stalin and Secretary of the Politburo ("Avec Staline dans le Kremlin", parts III and IV). The work was also published in book form in 1930. - Other than that, the present issues include contributions by Pierre de Nolhac, Ernest Pérochon, Raymond Recouly, George Edgar-Bonnet, Pierre Devoluy and others. - Founded by Horace de Carbuccia in 1921, the Revue de France appeared until 1939 under the direction of Marcel Prévost and Raymond Recouly. - Small tears to spines, most prominent in issue 21; a few small marginal flaws. Still a well-preserved set.
