Unica edizione autorizzata dall’autore che segue l’edizione principe del 1928 edita in Firenze da Orioli e subito sequestrata. Questa «edizione popolare» è corredata da una introduzione appositamente scritta dall’Autore (che conserva i diritti) per vincere la concorrenza delle numerose edizioni non autorizzate che si stamparono dopo l’enorme curiosità che suscitò il sequestro del romanzo; come lo definirono le autorità inglesi: «il più sporco e osceno libro inglese».
