Original printed wrappers. = An important monograph, revising the group and adding new taxa. Contains a large bibliography of almost 700 titles. Armando Theodoro Hunziker (1919-2001 in Córdoba, Argentina) was a Argentine botanist of Swiss descent. "He had specialized in the study of systems biology of the family Solanaceae, having contributed with a large number of investigations and publications. He studied Agronomy at the University of Buenos Aires, where he met his mentor, Prof. Lorenzo R. Parodi, who supervised his graduate thesis about the genus Cuscuta, a parasite that affects wild and cultivated plants in Argentina and Uruguay" (Wikipedia). ADDED: Sinopsis de las especies Argentino-Uruguayas del genero Cuscuta; a smaller contribution, containing a key to the species, by the same author and publisher in 1947 (27 pp., three text figures; 23.6 x 15.8 cm, printed wrappers). Spine ends abraded, some toning, otherwise a very good, clean and unmarked copy.
