Sergent analizza diversi personaggi della Bibbia: Caino e Abele; Agar e Ismael; Giuseppe; Mosè; Ruth e Noemi; Jephte; Sunamita; Tobia; Maccabei. All'interno sono presenti 10 belle incisioni fuori testo coperte da velina incise da Staal, una ad ogni inizio di capitolo ed un frontespizio figurato. Bellissima legatura in mezza pelle con dorso in marocchino verde e decorazioni in oro. Tagli dorati. L'opera è in un volume ed è completa. Copertina in mezza pelle con titolo e decorazioni in oro al dorso in buone condizioni generali con lievi usure ai margini e dorso. Legatura in ottime condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in buone condizioni con fioriture sparse. First edition not dated but of 1840 circa of this interesting text about Byble written by the abbey Sergent. Sergent analyzes different carachters of the Byble: Caino e Abele; Agar e Ismael; Giuseppe; Mosè; Ruth e Noemi; Jephte; Sunamita; Tobia; Maccabei. Inside there are 10 beautiful out of the text engravings covered by tissue paper engraved by Staal, one at each beginning of chapter and a figurated title page. Very beautiful half morocco cover with golden title and decorations in the spine. Golden external edges of pages. The work is in one volume and it is complete. Half leather cover with golden title and decorations in the spine in good general conditions slightly worn in the edges and spine. Binding in very good conditions. Inside pages are in good conditions with foxings.
