Uniform contemporary black half calf with four raised bands, silver titles on spine; except the text of the discomycètes, which is in later black buckram with black, gilt-lettered morocco label on spine. = Two volumes of text and four atlases with 714 hand-coloured lithographed plates. Added (in photocopy): Essette, H. Bull. Soc. Myc. France 78 (1957). Remarques et tables concernant l'atlas de Gillet. (remarques two pp.); and inserted (typescript) German translation of the same (two pp.). Also added (in photocopy), three text parts (1898, 1890, n.d.) of 14, 16, 25 pp.: Liste de tous les champignons contenus dans louvrage sur les hyménomycètes et ranges par ordre alphabetique, Agaricinées [16 pp. with descriptions of species], and Hyménomycètes d'ordre des planches parues jusquen 1890. The first and third paper are also present in original; (6. discomycètes, texte; 1879) 230, [5] pp. The latter part contains five unnumbered pages not mentioned in Volbracht. See also Junk Bibliographia Botanica pp. 2,296-2,299. All three works are extremely rare and almost never found complete as the plates were published unnumbered. A great classic in mycology.
