MARGUERITE de Navarre. Berne, Chez la Nouvelle Societé Typographique, 1792. 3 volumi in - 8°, pieno marocchino verde doviziosamente decorato in oro al dorso e sui piani, merletto interno, taglio dorato. I: xlviii, 275 pp., con antiporta e 21 tavole incise in rame f.t.; II: 308 pp., con antiporta e 25 tavole incise in rame f.t.; III: 250, (2) pp. con antiporta e 27 tavole incise in rame f.t. I frontespizi sono incisi in caratteri calligrafici, numerose testate e finaletti adornano il testo. Bellissimo esemplare racchiuso in cofanetto. Rara variante dell' edizione del 1780 - 81. Cohen - Ricci, 680 - 82: L' édition de Berne, 1792, est à peu de chose près de meme prix. Ray, The art of the Franch illustrated book 1700 to 1914, pp. 115 - 16 (n° 66): Sigismund Freudeborg (1745 - 1801) and Balthazar - Antoine Dunker (1746 - 1801). Though its two illustrators lived much in France, they were Swiss, and in effect this is à Swiss version of the sumptuous illustrated book of the later eighteenth century.
