Folio. 1 p. on bifolium. In Latin to Sigismund Báthory (1572-1613), Prince of Transylvania and Imperial Prince of the Holy Roman Empire, announcing his son's appointment as cardinal. William's son Philip of Bavaria (1576-98) had been created Prince Bishop of Regensburg at the early age of only three years; on 18 December 1596 he had been named cardinal by Pope Clement VIII. - Somewhat duststained and with slight edge damage.
