Illustrated throughout with a vast profusion of full-page plates in colour and black and white. 4to, handsomely bound in contemporary dark-green three-quarter morocco over marbled paper covered boards, the spines divided into five compartments separated by raised bands ruled in gilt, two compartments lettered in gilt, the remaining three with central Napoleonic devices gilt, the covers gilt ruled at the joins, marbled endleaves, sometime rebacked to style, t.e.g. xvi, 283; xii, 283; xii, 270; xii, 313 including an extensive index. A handsome and very good set, internally clean, the bindings strong, with some rubbing and wear to the corners.
