19,5x12 cm; (2), 540, (2) pp. Legatura editoriale in tutta tela marrone con titolo e autore impressi in oro al dorso (piccola mancanza al margine superiore del dorso). Interessante testo di storia americana della Virginia e Pennsylvania, ricco di notizie inerenti alla storia di questi stati e alla Guerra Civile Americana. Meade fu attivo nella "American Colonization Society" che cercava di portare fuori dalla Georgia gli schiavi, per poi favorirne la liberazione. Opera in buono stato di conservazione. Prima edizione.
