Ercüment Ekrem described what happened to a woman named Belkis, who was educated in Paris, who was married to the eldest son of a family living in accordance with the Eastern traditions in this work, which he named "The Bride of Sabir Efendi". On the basis of the work lies the idea that it is time to criticize the taboos the Turkish society blindly attach to, and the sad consequences of dedicating those who do not comply with them in a way that they do not deserve.
