Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - This study deals with the analysis of complex sentences in English, focus-ing on constructions that have traditionally been described as coordinate and adverbial subordinate. The basic argument developed in this study is that the central functional principle underlying the System of complex sentence formation in English is the interpersonal organization of the complex sentence structure.
