Salvage Project of the Construction Area of the Ilisu Dam III: Roman Empire period and Middle-New ages sites.= Ilisu Baraji Insaat Sahasi Kurtarma Projesi III: Roma Imparatorluk döönem ve Orta-Yakin çag yerlesmeleri. Archaeological surveys carried out in the area to be affected by the planned constructions of the llisu Dam and the hydroelectric power plant (HES) projects on theTigris River revealed the cultural wealth of the region. Part of the works that were initiated in the framework of the "Convention Concerning the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage" ratified by Turkey on 14 April 1982 with the Act no. 2658 were conducted on the 1600 hectares expropriation area where the constructions of the body of the dam, the State Hydraulic Works Compound and the hydroelectric power plant are planned. Surface analyses undertaken by our team in 2008 yielded 15 archaeological zones. Salvation excavations were carried out in four zones; the final reports concerning two zones are presented in the book. Mardin Museum Directorate aimed to bring museum collections into light through conservation and restoration studies of the artifacts which were stored in the museum depots. The museum also intend to produce information by conducting researches, to make this information permanent through museum publications and to present it to the readers' service. This book has been published for the purpose of documenting and sharing information of the archaeology of Dicle Valley and llisu Dam Rescue Excavations that has been carried out since 2007.This book is composed of two main sections, the Roman Imperial Period and the Middle-Near-Early Settlements, the third of previously published books.
