Proposes a number of regulations and ways to control emissions, along with the establishment of air pollution standards for the oil industry. The paper further warns against the effects of pollluted air on human health, an important factor considering that refineries and factories were often being erected in densely populated areas. - A very well preserved paper from the important annual Arab Petroleum Congress, reflecting the 1970s' scientific background to oil production in the Arab World. Includes the introduction twice.
