8vo., First Edition; cloth, upper board and backstrip blocked and lettered in white, a very good, clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly frayed at edges and with neat repair (just affecting lettering) at headband. Vividly-written novel based on the author's service with the Royal Engineers in WWII. The first edition is scarce in this condition.
