About the Book:-This book is a lively and colourful account of the authors 12 years stay on the frontiers of India and Nepal, as an indigo planter, between 1863 and 1875. The author in this book gives vivid accounts of mofussil and country district life, with the narrative being full of anecdotes. The intention of the author was to give exciting episodes from his hunting, shooting, and fishing jaunts; along with which there are accounts of daily life and incidents; descriptions of the natives and their lives, their customs, dispositions, observances and sayings, etc. There are nine illustrations in this book, which was first published in 1878.
