Statuto del Comune di Cortona (1325-1380)

Il più antico statuto di Cortona a noi giunto è quello del 1325, strettamente legato all'avvio della signoria dei Casali e alla trasformazione dell'assetto politico della città, divenuta nello stesso anno sede episcopale. In questa edizione, redatta secondo i più rigorosi criteri di trattazione delle fonti storiche medievali, lo statuto compare corredato da tutte le aggiunte fino al 1380 e da una serie di strumenti critici che ne facilitano la lettura. The oldest constitution of the town of Cortona is that of 1325, tightly connected to the rise of the lordship of the Casalis and to the transformation of the political order of the town, that in the same year became episcopal see. In this edition, that complies with the strictest requirements for the handling of the sources for the history of the Middle Ages, the constitution is published together with its addenda till 1380 and with critical notes that facilitate its interpretation.
