Description

About the Book:-After the publication of When Kings Rode to Delhi, the author was asked to write a sequel, giving the story of the struggles for supremacy in India which followed the break-up of the Moghul Empire. True that it is about the struggle between the foreign powers for the supremacy in India after the death of Aurangzeb and the subsequent decay of the Moghul Empire. The book is the product of extensive study and research work after the break-up of the Moghul Empire when foreign powers like Dutch, English, and French tried their best to establish their supremacy. It is wonderfully researched and has inputs from all quarters of the power struggle – the French and English, the Mysore king Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan, the Marathas, the Nepalis, the Sikhs, the Afghans and Sind. The book ndends with the death of the East India Company on 2 August 1858. The revolt of 1857 is not discussed in this book. The book was published in 1914
