Sul fronte catalano un'aviatore nazionale, causa una grave avaria del suo apparecchio, si gettava col paracadute e toccava terra, ferito, in prossimità delle linee dei rossi. Visto che questi accorrevano per catturarlo, il capo squadra delle Camicie Nere Pietro Strengacci, di Roma, uscendo dalla trincea si precipitava in suo soccorso, se lo caricava sulle spalle e malgrado il violento fuoco delle mitragliatrici avversarie che tentavano di impedire il nobile gesto, riuscì a trarre in salvo il camerata. L'eroico Strengacci cadeva sul campo due giorni dopo, in un'altra ardimentosa azione, e alla sua memoria è stata assegnata la medaglia d'argento.
