First Latin Edition, 8vo (197 x 125 mm), in 2 parts, [7], ii-xxiv, 149, [3], xii, [37], 48 pp., the ëMedicina statica Britannicaí has a separate title-page and pagination, the register is continuous, some worming on lower blank margins in first half of text, just affecting imprint on title page, woodcut illustrations in the text, contemporary panelled calf, joints cracked. First published under the title ìAn Account of Animal Secretion, the quality of Blood in the Humane Body and Muscular Motionî, in 1708. This work was an important intermediate step between Harveyís early work on the circulation of the blood and the full understanding of circulation achieved by Hales in 1733.
