Sm. 8vo., First Edition, with 32 coloured and monochrome plates, and numerous illustrations in the text,; original series binding of blue-green leatherette, upper board and backstrip lettered in gilt, green sprinkled edges, radial corners, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter with coloured illustration (repeated from plate) mounted in frame, lightly browned at backstrip and with one small nick at head of backstrip. Nice copy of 'Stokoe & Stovin' in the dustwrapper. One of the few W&W titles issued without pictorial boards and endpapers. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. See Marren, pp.169-170.
