No marks or inscriptions. Creasing to front cover and to spine. A very clean copy with unmarked boards, faded spine and no bumping to corners. 206pp. The story of a tiny pioneering climbing club in the English Lakeland which the author helped to form in the 1930s, and their adventures on the crags in the days of clinker-nailed boots, hemp ropes - and no protection whatsoever. With black & white photographs and drawings by Alfred Wainwright.
