Singapore, The Raffles Museum [Government Printing Office], 1931. 8vo (24.0 x 16.3 cm). 34 (+ 2) pp.; three text figures, two plates, one folded map. Original printed wrappers. = Rare herpetological paper on the little known fauna of Borneo's highest mountain which reaches well beyond the tree limit. Included are several new species. Well-illustrated. The work is contained in the Museum's Bulletin (number 5) with several other smaller papers, including the following herpetological works by N. Smedley: "On some reptiles and a frog from Natuna island" (three pp.), "Notes on some Malaysian snakes" (five pp.), Oviparity in a sea-snake, Laticauda colubrina (Schneid) (five pp.), "Notes on the giant frog, Rana macrodon" (four pp.). Uncut. Former owner's name (the Dutch biologist van Heurn) on the front wrapper and title page; several pencil annotations; spine warped, otherwise a good copy. Rare.
