8vo., First Edition, with a portrait frontispiece (original tissue guard present), and numerous photographs, facsimiles and maps (a number full-page) in the text, endpapers lightly age-soiled; original red diced cloth, upper board blocked in gilt, gilt back, uncut, upper hinge tender (but binding entirely sound), a very good, good, bright copy. With 40pp publisher's catalogue (dated December 1897) on laid paper bound in at end. Ottley, 5877.
