8vo., First Edition; green cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly chipped at edges and with minor loss (just affecting lettering) at head of backstrip. The author's first novel, a literary landmark of sixties Britain, and the basis of Bryan Forbes' feature film (1962) starring Leslie Caron.
