This is a near fine softcover two volume set with almost no wear. Completely clean inside and out. Spines not creased, bindings firm. Essays by James Miller of Sotheby's, Lucy Wood, Curator of the Lady Lever Art Gallery, Peter de Figueiredo, architect and historian (Thornton Manor), Simon Taylor (paintings) and finally an appreciation of William Lever by Lord Hattington. This is an auction catalog for a sale held in London June 26,27 and 28. 2001. The Leverhulme Collection was assembled by William Hesketh Lever, later Lord Leverhulme (1851-1927). The collections were kept at the Lever residence, Thornton Manor, Wirral, Merseyside. Volume 1 contains the furniture and decorative arts collections; volume 2 the paintings and more decorative arts. 1287 lots in the sale, many illustrated in color. 10 1/2" high X 8" wide, 732 pages.
