Robert Gibbings (1889- 1958) was born in Cork, Ireland and is remembered now chiefly for his wood engravings and was passionate advocate for the revival of interest in wood engravings in the 1920's. He illustrated many books for the Golden Cockerell Press. 396 illustrations in color and black & white. Vintage photographs. Bibliography. 11" high X 9" wide, 426 pages.
