Contemporary half calf over pebbled cloth boards. Edges speckled red. = One of the most important botanical periodicals - with three fine monographs - and certainly one of the best-illustrated too. Includes the plants of Milanji, Nyasa-land by Britten et al.; the flora of Mount Kinabalu, in North Borneo, by Stapf, and the phanerogamic botany of the Matto Grosso Expedition 1891-92 by Moore. All with fine illustrations and new species. Pictorial library label of the Iowa State Library on the front pastedown; invoice of the book dealer R. Friedländer & Sohn in Berlin - relating to both this book and the Iowa library - loosely inserted. Boards detached, spine mostly perished; contents leaf and adjacent map belonging to the first paper chipped and repaired at edges; otherwise, however, clean and unmarked. A good copy. Cat.
