Description

8vo., Third Impression, with 3 maps in the text, signature on front free endpaper; green tweed cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy in unclipped, mildly browned dustwrapper. Published a year after the first edition. Fergusson's vividly-written autobiography covers his time as ADC to Wavell, his service in Palestine, Turkey and Syria, followed by Tobruk and (arguably his finest hour) the dramatic ordeal of Wingate's campaigns in Burma. This volume concludes with his departure from the service in 1958 prior to his appointment as Governor-General of New Zealand. dustwrapper artwork by Kenneth Farnhill. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. Graham & Cole, L7 (recording the first edition); not recorded by Enser.
