In beautifully patterned VG slipcase (with minor wear) and original glassine covers with a few small chips. INSCRIBED by the author on front free endpaper to author and well-known Sherlock Holmes scholar Samuel Rosenberg (1912-1996). Rosenberg - also a photographer - started to get interested in Sherlock Holmes after a journey to Rosenlaui, Switzerland, an important place for Sherlock Holmes. The inscription from de Waal reads: "For Sam Rosenberg, The most professional and controversial Sherlockian alive! Ron de Waal, 2/10/75"; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 526 pages
