Sulzer's (1720-1776) magnum opus "Allgemeine Theorie der schönen Künste". The editor, the Bavarian canon Albrecht Christoph Kirchmayer (d. 1814) also edited Sulzer's "Theorie der Dichtkunst" (1789); both were intended as systematic text books for students.
