This book is titled 'Commemorative Catalogue: Today's Focus- on Modern Japanese Art'. Catalog designed by Hiromu Hara. Essay by Tamon Miki. The book was prepared to accompany the exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo in the autumn of 1972. The exhibition consisted of 424 works by 148 artists, spanning the early Meiji period to the present, and included oil paintings, nihonga, sculpture and ceramics, glass and weaving, etc. All works illustrated in black & white images in the checklist.
