Coloured frontispiece torn with tissue-guard re-attached to outer edge. All black & white illustrations present. Dust jacket not price clipped with small pieces missing from upper edge. Jacket now protected in fully-removable transparent sleeve. 187pp. About twenty individual reminiscences, experiences and yarns recounted in the frank and friendly mood appropriate to 'the watch below', all with the same inspiration of the love of ships and the spell of the sea. With sixteen full-page drawings and coloured frontispiece by well-known artist Donald Maxwell.
