Author's signature to half-title page. No other marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, very clear gilt lettering to spine, front end paper missing and no bumping to corners. Fore-edge and lower edpes untrimmed. 111pp. The work begins with a twenty two page essay Defence of Modern Poetry followed by the six parts of Tragedy under Lucifer and it ends with a six page Epilogue. The author was Conservative MP for Oldham and then Stretford over the years 1931 to 1939.
