La Villa è stata acquistata dalla Regione Toscana nel 2004 e, nel giugno 2013, inserita nella Lista Patrimonio Mondiale dell'UNESCO. Questo volume presenta la sua realtà storica e artistica in un'agile sequenza di scritti, memorie, suggestioni, e immagini. Si tratta di un contributo scientifico originale maturato attraverso la collaborazione tra l'Università di Firenze, e le emanazioni territoriali del Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali con la Regione Toscana. In June 2013 the UNESCO added the Villa of Careggi, a property of the Regional Government of Tuscany since 2004, in the World Heritage list. This book aims to show the historical and artistic value of the villa by providing a set of writings, memories, impressions, and images. This original scientific essay is the result of a cooperation between the University of Florence and the local offices of the Ministry of Culture, together with the Region of Tuscany.
