Description
This is a fine hardcover copy with a near fine dust jacket with almost no wear. The jacket is all there, not clipped or sunned, just the top edge a bit of wear. Completely clean. This monograph was prepared to accompany the first major retrospective exhibition of Garry Winogrand's photography. John Szarkowski, the Director of the Museum of Modern Art's Photography Department, and curator of this exhibition, has said that 'Garry Winogrand (1928- 1984) is the central photographer of his generation. His pictures realize a conception of photography that is richer, more complex, and more problematic than any other photographer since the Second World War'. 208 black & white illustrations on 179 plates. Chronology. Bibliography. 11" square, 260 pages. Scarce as a fine first printing. Large heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
