Contemporary dark-grey marbled boards. = A well-illustrated monograph written by the German botanist and palaeontologist Karl Gustav Wilhelm Stenzel (1826-1905). This is essentially a German translation of his thesis, which was written in Latin. Published on behalf of the Kaiserlich Leopoldinisch-Carolinische Akademie der Naturforscher. Old, cyrillic name stamp (Kritova) on the title page, spine partly split, otherwise a very good copy. Rare. Stafleu and Cowan, 12.973.
