Bellissima veduta della città sul Bosforo, disegnata da Jean-Baptiste Herni Durand Brager (1814-1879), figurata da E. Bayot e pubblicata dalla tipografia Lemercier. Litografia a colori, con ritocchi coevi ad acquarello, in ottimo stato di conservazione. Jean-Baptiste Henri Durand-Brager è stato un pittore, incisore e fotografo francese di marine e di paesaggi. Entrato in Marina, e divenuto Ufficiale, raggiunse il grado di Capitano. Da giovane viaggiò molto, in Europa, in Algeria e lungo le coste atlantiche dell'Africa. Appassionatosi alla pittura, entrò finalmente negli atelier dei pittori Eugène Isabey e Théodore Gudin dove apprese il mestiere dell'arte, e contemporaneamente si esercitò nella neonata arte della fotografia. Joseph-Rose Lemercier (1803-1887) fu uno dei più importanti stampatori-litografi parigini del XIX secolo. Ha lavorato per i più grandi editori e artisti del suo tempo. Ha avuto un ruolo importante nella diffusione e generalizzazione del processo di fotolitografia, che ha reso possibile trasferire un'immagine fotografica su una pietra litografica e quindi produrre stampe di questa immagine in inchiostro da stampa. Color lithograph, with contemporary watercolor retouches, in very good condition. Jean-Baptiste Henri Durand-Brager was a French marine and landscape painter, engraver and photographer. He joined the Navy and became an officer, reaching the rank of captain. As a young man he traveled extensively, in Europe, Algeria and along the Atlantic coast of Africa. Passionate about painting, he finally entered the ateliers of painters Eugène Isabey and Théodore Gudin where he learned the craft of art, and at the same time practiced the fledgling art of photography. Joseph-Rose Lemercier (1803-1887) was one of the most important Parisian printers-lithographers of the 19th century. He worked for the greatest publishers and artists of his time. He played an important role in the diffusion and the generalization of the process of photolithography which made it possible to transfer a photographic image on a lithographic stone and to carry out thanks to that impressions with the printing ink of this image.
