Stampata dalla tipografia Lemercier ed edita a Parigi dalla Maison Basset, rue de Seine 55. La veduta appartiene alla serie Rome Religieuse, una rarissima raccolta di 12 vedute sulla città pubblicata verso la metà del XIX secolo. ' Emeric de Tamagnon era un celebre pittore di paesaggio francese; di lui sono note e particolarmente apprezzate le vedute delle riviere sabauda e ligure, che risultano disegnate già nel 1845. Come scrive infatti Carlo Alberto Vecchi nel Museo Scientifico, Letterario ed Artistico (Anno Settimo, Torino 1845, p. 286), “è con grande soddisfazione d’animo abbiam veduto meglio di duemila disegni tolti dal vero dell’abilissimo pittor di paese A. Emeric de Tamagnon, fra i quali havene cento che riproducono nel suo bello le ridenti coste di Genova, da Nizza sino al golfo della Spezia”. I suoi disegni furono tradotti a stampa al ritorno a Parigi. Tavola finemente colorata a mano. Rara. ' The view belongs to the series Rome Religieuse, a very rare collection of 12 views of the city published in the mid-nineteenth century. Emeric de Tamagnon was a famous French landscape painter; his views of the Savoy and Ligurian Rivieras, drawn as early as 1845, are well known and particularly appreciated. In fact, as Carlo Alberto Vecchi writes in the Museo Scientifico, Letterario ed Artistico (Year Seven, Turin 1845, p. 286), "it is with great satisfaction that we have seen more than two thousand drawings taken from life by the skilled landscape painter A. Emeric de Tamagnon, among others. Emeric de Tamagnon, among which we have a hundred that reproduce in its beauty the beautiful coast of Genoa, from Nice to the Gulf of La Spezia.
