Franzetti, calcografo attivo a Roma con bottega tra via del Corso e Torsanguigna, è noto per le sue piccole incisioni di veduta che servivano spesso come biglietti da visita. Tutte contengono, infatti, una linea in basso, dove si poteva apporre il proprio nome ad inchiostro. Le piccole vedute erano spesso stampate a 4 in un foglio. Alla serie Vedute si antiche, che moderne / DELLA CITTA' DI ROMA / E DI ALCUNI LUOGHI SUBURBANI si trovano, alle volte, inserite delle piccole vedute - basate su quelle del Voyage Pittoresque dell'abate Saint-Non - di luoghi dell'Italia meridionale.
